How it works

Personal attention.
A process you can follow.

One consistent person to help you understand the details, ask the right questions and keep follow-up moving.

  1. 01 / Get acquainted

    Start with a conversation

Tell us what feels hard to keep track of. Together we agree on the accounts, recurring bills, permissions and support that make sense for you.

  2. 02 / Get connected

    Connect on your terms

After signing and a short waiting period, you connect agreed accounts for read-only data. For bill payment, you open a separate account in your name and your bank sets up our access.

  3. 03 / Get a clearer view

    See what needs attention

We pay approved bills within your instructions, check that each payment went through, and organize activity and open questions in your monthly dashboard.

  4. 04 / Talk it through

    Make informed decisions

Spend up to 60 minutes with Austin each month going over the dashboard, your next steps and a practical scam-awareness brief. Every follow-up has a clear owner.

You stay in control. You own the bill-pay account and set the limits. We use our own bank-approved access, never your passwords, and your money never passes through our accounts.

See the work

More than a list
of transactions.

A charge you don’t recognize. A bill that quietly went up. A cancellation that still needs attention. Your dashboard connects the details to questions worth asking, and the next step for each one.

Clients receive a printable PDF and a personal monthly call. The fictional excerpt below shows the kind of work Lookout does; findings vary with each household.

Context first. Action second.
Unfamiliar location01
$684.50 · Merchant listed in Boise, Idaho

Aug 18 · Household card · Posted

Were you in Idaho, or did you buy from this business online?

Next step Check the merchant and receipt together. If you do not recognize the charge, contact the card issuer promptly using the number on your card.

A merchant’s listed location does not establish where you were or prove fraud.

Possible duplicate02
Two $245.00 home-service charges

Aug 12 and 13 · Checking · Both posted

Do these cover two separate visits or the same invoice?

Next step Compare the invoices and ask the provider to explain the second charge, with your authorization.

Matching amounts alone do not establish duplicate billing.

Recurring price change03
Internet bill increased from $79 to $109

August bill · $30 increase

Did a promotional rate end, or did your service change?

Next step Compare the bills and request an explanation of the increase. You decide whether to keep or change the service.

No savings or future rate is assumed.

Cancellation follow-through04
$24.99 charged after a cancellation request

Aug 25 · Household card · Posted

Does the cancellation confirmation cover this billing period?

Next step Check the effective date and request a correction if supported by the records. Track the vendor’s response.

A refund is not confirmed until supporting evidence is available.

Bill payment status example

Fictional example: A $92.40 utility bill, within the client’s $150 limit, was submitted through bank bill pay. Status: submitted; vendor receipt still to be confirmed. Lookout checks the result and follows up if it’s delayed or returned. Submitted doesn’t mean paid until it’s confirmed.

Decisions and next steps

  • Client: Check travel and online-purchase history for the Idaho charge. Contact the issuer promptly if it is unrecognized.
  • Lookout, with authorization: Compare home-service invoices, request the internet billing explanation and check the subscription cancellation evidence.
  • Together: Record decisions during the monthly call. No refunds, disputes or cancellations are shown as completed until confirmed.

Scope and data limits
